Will AGL allow all storage solutions to recharge their batteries overnight from the off peak grid?

Hello all, In my first thread I got a lot of useful information on your proposed solution to help me model the economics of my requirements. One curve ball I was not expecting was getting confirmation that AGL will allow off-peak re-charging of storage solution - or at least your own. This approach means my excess solar during the day only has to cover my evening peak and shoulder usage (say from 4pm - 10pm), not my morning before the Sun is up and we are getting ready to leave shoulder usage. ...

Re: Home battery storage

I think it is an excellent idea provided it makes economic sense! AGL suprised a bit when they stated that at least their storage solution can be recharged from the off peak grid - this means both morning load could be covered by stored (off peak costed load) and your excess daily solar goes first to toping up your storage and secondly to the grid; meaning your storage system only has to be enough to cover your peak eveing usage (and evening shoulder if you wish it). That brings down the size o ...

Re: Will AGL allow all storage solutions to recharge their batteries overnight from the off peak gri

Thank you - that is great to know - which means any energy storage solution that allows off peak recharging from the grid - can do this with AGL - well done team! Now its wait to see what size and price solutions are offered to us this year!

Re: When will AGL launch a customer Energy storage solution sizing and economic modelling calculator

Thank you for your response to some of my questions (none of part 1, most of part 2 and all of part 3). So to re-state my first question - with a worked example - when should a ROI calculator be available? From my daily usage data I could tell AGL today that I use 3.5 kWh peak and 4.1 kWh shoulder which totals 7.6 kWh daily ever day, and I could replenish this using excess solar each and every day for 365 days a year so its easy to calculate annual savings as: annual savings = cost of peak and ...
