AGL’s Virtual Power Plant is designed to help energy users in South Australia take control of their electricity bills with battery and solar technology.

Here are some of the features of AGL’s Virtual Power Plant:

  • Participants own the battery that is installed in your home, in addition to a solar system.
  • Any energy discharged from the battery will be used by the home first, before excess solar is exported to the grid.
  • Participation in the Virtual Power Plant is for a 5-year period.

Participants can save on the cost of their battery thanks to a heavily subsidised program cost, while also potentially saving on their energy bills by using more solar energy and less from the grid.
