A 310 Megawatt windfarm is close to completion in remote Northern Kenya. The farm of 365 turbines will harness the powerful winds synonymous with the Loiyangalani district (testing recorded an average of a whopping 11.8 metres per second!), and will deliver approx 17% of the country’s generating capacity.
The Lake Turkana windfarm is expected to be fully operational by mid 2017.
Some pretty exciting news in the world of renewables!
