Will AGL withdraw this gas project if the EES concludes "unacceptable effects"?

Will AGL withdraw this gas project if the EES concludes "unacceptable effects"?

Hello,

I have a question about the AGL Gas Import Jetty project.

If the Minister for Planning concludes that the EES process has shown that the proposed Gas Import Jetty project would have an unacceptable level of environmental effects, would AGL withdraw their project and cease all activities and plans to import LNG at Crib Point?

APA has previously stated that they would cancel the proposed Pipeline project if AGL did not proceed with the Gas Import Jetty project.

Could you please clarify AGL's position on this matter?

Hi Cribpoint123,

As the EES process is the most rigorous avenue for obtaining government approvals, without the Minister for Planning’s consent AGL would not be in a position to pursue the project.
