Credit card is about to expire and i have tried for 2 days to update credit card details, but when i go to "update direct debit", it says that direct debit is not available for my account at the moment.
I have been using direct debit since being with AGL.

You are correct in assuming that you would be able to amend your payment details whilst logged in to My Account online, via the 'Manage Account' screen.
