My last paid gas bill showed the balance brought forward as $0.00. So did all my previous bills. All bills maintained correct sequential metre readings.

 

At some stage in the past, my bank made a mistake by paying AGL two identical payments for one bill, on the same day. When I complained about the error the bank rectified the error by refunding me and sorting the matter out with AGL. The only snag that remained is the way AGL handled my account by insisting that the amount refunded was a "dishonoured' bill payment.

 

No amount of explaining could convince AGL gas accounting personnel that my forthcoming bill should have $0.00 as the balance brought forward. They refuse to admit their mistake and keep chasing their tails by forwarding to me flimsy accounting waffle. I have never defaulted, but I keep getting all sorts of defaulting bills, some in red and others in black. My online gas account continues to show wrong figures of unwarranted unpaid claims.
