Demand charging for SEQ Solar Saver plan

Switched-on

Interested in changing to AGL Solar Saver plan in SEQ but the new Fact Sheet includes Demand Charges which are not explained. I want "Single rate with controlled load" as per the heading on the fact sheet, however it has two charge rates for normal use along with the controlled load pricing.

The Queensland Government fact sheet on energy pricing says Demand Charging is optional, and I don't want it, as I have a solar system with PW2 battery which means we will not draw any power from the grid during the peak usage periods anyway. Assuming decent solar generation on that day at least.

I tried the online chat but the person at the other end had no idea what I was talking about when I said demand charging other than say power was charged as kWh, derr.

Seems NSW does not have demand charges as yet on their plans so nobody seems to know how it actually works.
