Bill shock!!

G’day, iv recently been emailed an electricity bill for my 2 bedroom flat for one month 29/4 - 28/5 for $284. I know something is not right with this bill, there’s only peak charging on it and no off peak. I don’t feel that it’s correct and I wouldn’t use 29kw a day in power

When you receive a higher than expected bill, we always recommend checking the meter reading on the bill in question to confirm whether it is 'actual' or 'estimated'. If you find that your meter reading is estimated then we recommend that you log in online here and follow the prompts to enter the meter reading currently displayed on your meter to ensure that you have not been overcharged.

 

In addition to this, it is worth nothing that most electricity meters are by default installed with just a single 'peak' register. If you'd like to see if an 'off peak' option is available to you, we'd reccomend that you get in touch with our web chat team here.
