$600 increase in electricity bill

Hi,

I’ve received my latest power bill and it has jumped from a $130 average of my previous two, to over $716. 

All three bills are “actual reads”.

there have been no changes in the household.

cooking and water are on gas.

my oldest appliance would be 4 years old.

The customer resolutions person has told me I likely have a “faulty appliance” using more power than it should however after speaking to an electrician he has said that an apliance cannot draw more power than it is designed too. 

After sending my meter numbers in again the customer resolutions person has estimated that my next bill is going to be larger again. 

It’s a 2 person household, both of us have been away on holidays this past billing period and both not home much when we are here. 

Can anyone suggest anything else or what my next step could be for resolving this?
